The shipping forecast must be one of the most reassuring events we enjoy in Britain (providing we are not out on the sea). The Shipping Forecast is a BBC Radio broadcast of weather reports and forecasts for the seas around the coasts of Great Britain. It is produced by the Met Office and broadcast by BBC Radio 4 on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
This is a decorative slate plaque showing the sea areas. The map is laser engraved allowing it to have clear lines and detail. A wooden batten on the back holds a round keyhole hanger insert so the slate is ready to hang.
