Getting started can feel a little overwhelming, but in this guide we will walk you through the basics to launching your shop and provide you with some helpful resources on growing your shop, providing great customer service and getting your items delivered. In part two we are exploring how to create an engaging listing designed to get customers to want to discover more.

The photo:

Your listings first photo will be the image that gets displayed in the search results, so make sure it’s eye catching! You can add more photos to give shoppers more information bout your product like its size, how it’s used, styled in a room, of displayed on a model.

The title:

Your title should make it easy for shoppers to see what you’re selling and what makes it special. Long titles might not get displayed properly so keep it descriptive using relevant words and phrses, long side being short and easy to read.

The price:

Shoppers often have a price point in mind and compare pricing when they look through search results, so your listing’s price can affect whether buyer clicks on your listing. It may be worth having various price points across your inventory to reach shoppers on any budget.

The description:

Keep it short, informative, engaging. Add essential sections to the top (size, dimension, colours etc) and finish on a note the tells your items story within your brand.

The special offer:

Everyone loves a deal! Running a sale or offering free delivery can make your listings stand out from competition in search results. Shoppers will see if a listing is ‘on sale’ in the search results.

Processing times:

Shoppers are often looking to buy gifts for a certain date to it’s worth considering processing times. If your item is ready to go and in stock, mention your processing time is ‘1 business day’ to get ready to send to keep their expectations in mind and avoid any unnecessary delays.

Delivery:

Shipping can be a deciding factor for buyers. If the postage is too expensive they might be less likely to buy. Sometimes it’s worth considering adding a percent of the shipping costs into the item’s price, so you can lower the postage charge.

Reviews:

You should encourage your buyers to leave a review. Star ratings will be seen on products in search results. It helps build trust and encourages buyers to have a closer look at your listing.
