Fees & Payments Policy

Sellers may be charged for using some of Baphomart’s services. This Fees & Payments Policy explains your fees and taxes and how to pay them.

This policy is a part of our Terms of Use. By opening a Baphomart shop, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

1. Types of Fees

Sellers may be required to pay the following types of fees. Please note that all fees are listed exclusive of any value – added tax (VAT) that may apply. See the Taxes section below for further details.

Listing Fees

You will be charged a listing fee of £0.12 GBP for each item that you list for sale on Baphomart.com or app. You will only be charged a listing fee when you sell your item on Baphomart; there is no fee for adding or editing listing. Baphomart listings expire after five months. Listing fees are reflected in your product listing when editing and deducted at the time the listing is sold. It’s important to note that listing fees are non-refundable.

Transaction Fees

When you make a sale through Baphomart.com, you will be charged a transaction fee of 3.6% of the price you display for each listing. If you list your items in a currency other than your payment account currency, see the Currency Conversion section below for more details on the transaction fee. The transaction fee will apply to the listing price (which should include any applicable taxes). See the Taxes section below for more information about whether you are required to include applicable taxes in your listing prices. Transaction fees are deducted from each sale as it occurs.

Baphomart shops may use Stripe to accept payments through Baphomart. Stripe charge a payment processing fee for each transaction through Baphomart. Payment processing fees vary based on the location of your bank account. The payment processing fee is assessed on the total amount of the sale. Payment processing fees are deducted from the sale amount in your payment account. Seller’s handle all their own payments via Stripe.

Delivery Fees

Sellers on Baphomart handle all their own shipping. Baphomart offers sellers in certain locations the ability to purchase postage labels, via our third party partner Shippo, from postal service carriers to fulfil their orders. The cost of the postage label will depend on the delivery carrier, and the origin, destination, weight, and dimensions of the package. If you add signature confirmation or insurance, those fees will be added to the total cost of the label at the point of purchase. Sellers who purchase postage labels may also purchase parcel insurance through licensed insurance carriers. Postage fees and any adjustments are reflected directly with the carrier providing a service as a third party. You may need to register an account with them in order to make delivery bookings. Any problems arising with your chosen postal provider must be addressed directly with them.

For more information, please see the Delivery Policy.

Currency Conversion

Stripe will convert fees from GBP to your payment account currency at the market rate at the time the fee is reflected in your account. All fees appear in your payment account in your domestic currency.

To avoid incurring foreign exchange charges on your sales, Baphomart recommends you list your items in the same currency as your payment service currency. Buyers see the items in the currency of their choosing.

2. Fee Avoidance

Any action by a seller to avoid paying a fee is considered fee avoidance and is strictly prohibited by Baphomart. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your Baphomart shop through another venue. A transaction initiated on Baphomart may not be completed off of Baphomart. The price stated in each listing description must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not alter the item’s price after a sale for the purpose of avoiding Baphomart transaction fees, misrepresent the item’s location, or use another user’s account without permission.

3. Paying your Baphomart Fees

Baphomart will automatically deduct all fees owed from each sale at the time of sale directly from your Stripe account. Provided you have sufficient funds in your payment account no further payment action is required. If your Stripe account does not contain sufficient funds you are responsible for paying any fees owed in full within 15 days. If you make a sale while you have an outstanding balance the net sale amount will be applied to your outstanding balance. You may pay your outstanding balance manually by credit card, debit card, or PayPal.

Baphomart may suspend your selling privileges at any time pending payment of your outstanding balance.

4. Taxes

Aside from the limited circumstances set out below, you are responsible for collecting and paying any taxes associated with using and making sales through Baphomart’s services.

Listing your items on Baphomart

If you sell on Baphomart you will need to include applicable taxes in your listing prices. Please note that while some countries may refer to VAT using other terms, e.g. GST, we’ll just refer to VAT, GST, and any local sales taxes collectively as “VAT” unless the context requires otherwise.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that all your listings are properly categorised, and you agree to indemnify Baphomart for any losses it incurs in connection with any mis-categorisation of your listings by you.

If you sell physical goods on Baphomart you are required to calculate the tax owed on each sale if applicable.

Please remember that Baphomart’s fees do not include any withholding taxes that might apply in your home country. You are required to pay Baphomart the full amount of our fees and may not deduct any applicable withholding taxes from that amount.
