An Alpine Christmas figure of the devil variety, this one eats really naughty kids and serve as a deterrent for bad behaviour, either by thrashing them with branches or carrying them off in a potato sack or a basket on his back during house visits from the Christmas saint and devil or parades that still happen in areas of Austria, German and the Alps.
