How do auctions and bidding work?

What is automatic bidding?

Baphomart Auction allows you to take advantage of our automatic bidding system as an easy way to bid on an auction. You enter the highest price you are willing to pay for an item and for each counter bid we automatically bid in incrementals on your behalf. This means you can stay ahead of the competition for an item without needing to be glued to the auction.

What is start price?

This is the minimum price the seller will accept so the bidding will start from here.

What is bid increment?

This is the amount that your bid will increase by each time a counter offer is made. For example if there is a starting price of £10 and increment to £2, each time a counter offer is made, automatic bidding will increase your bid by £2 to £12, £14, £16 and so on until you reach your maximum bid.

Bid increments are smaller when the bid price is low and larger in higher price brackets.

What happens if I win an auction?

If you win an auction you will see it listed in your ‘My Auctions’ page with pay now button. You will also receive email notification pay for auction reminder with a pay now link.

The order will only be created when you click ‘pay now’ button. Once the order is created you will see it in their Orders section on your the dashboard.
