Inspired by Mythology, Folklore, wildlife and curiosities, my work is predominately Ceramics with a few oil paintings thrown in for good measure. Each piece is hand made and raku fired – a traditional Japanese technique where work is taken from the kiln at 1000c, thrown into sawdust to create a carbonised black and metallic surface and finally plunged into water to crackle the glaze. No two pieces are alike. All jewellery is hand made using porcelain; high fired to 1220c and stainless steel hypoallergenic.Â
